If your son or daughter wishes to take their lacrosse game to the next level, travel/club teams are a viable option. Lacrosse is typically a spring sport, but there are several local travel teams who play in the summer, fall, and winter. These teams typically conduct tryouts the year prior. For example, if your son or daughter wishes to play travel lacrosse in the summer of 2025, most club teams will have tryouts in the summer of 2024. These clubs are not affiliated with the Springboro Lacrosse Club.
If you feel like you are late to the game, don't worry; there is always some shuffling around, and teams are looking for players leading up to the current season. Your best option is to contact the teams directly to see if they are looking for players at your child's position and grade level.
A typical summer travel season will consist of 3 travel tournaments in June and July, with several practices leading up to the events. Depending on the level of the team, these tournaments can be within a couple hours driving distance, all the way out to the East Coast. Each team will vary with their practice and tournament schedules.
Travel/Club teams all have structured tryouts. While the Springboro Lacrosse Club is considered a recreational league and does not make cuts, the teams listed below are highly competitive, and therefore, accept players based on skill. A tryout does not automatically place a player on the team; so, many players try out for multiple clubs to find a good fit.

Our staff is comprised of coaches from the region’s most successful programs, and we offer both seasonal and annual training sessions, box lacrosse leagues, and even a summer youth program to get the most from your athlete.
Suns Out, Guns Out(SOGO) -Boys and Girls
SOGO was organized in 2014 by a group of friends and coaches who set out to offer a fun, summer lacrosse option for kids. The concept was to offer something family based, low stress, fun, and competitive. This approach proved to be very successful and has spurned the growth of the organization in SW Ohio.
SOGO currently includes, but is not limited to, players from several lacrosse clubs, including, Springboro, Mason, Kings, Crusaders, Bellbrook, CHCA. SOGO quickly grew from one team to four with plans in place to continue to expand as the demand continues to grow.
Velocity Lacrosse -Boys and Girls
Velocity offers summer travel teams in the South and Central regions of Ohio for boys and girls grades 4-11. These teams are formed from tryouts every September. These tryouts are open to any player interested in a summer club experience. Velocity Lacrosse also has a brick and mortar store located in West Chester, OH.
Lightning Lacrosse -Boys and Girls
The backbone of Lightning is player development. Our goal is to improve the overall ability of the lacrosse players and to do that we focus on the basics. The basic skills of lacrosse are necessary to compete at a high level. At Lightning we stress these basics everyday in training and during competition. Players will focus on the basic skills of lacrosse and how to transfer them to the broader scope of competition.
Resolute Lacrosse-Boys and Girls
Our mission is to provide players with the best physical, mental, and lacrosse specific training available anywhere. We take pride in developing athletes by pushing them to their limits. We strive not only to maximize the talent on the field but off the field as well by teaching life lessons throughout our program. Resolute guarantees quality coaching in a conducive setting, excellent for both group and individual instruction. The foundation of Resolute Lacrosse is constructed of coaches whose mission is to advance the ability and character of today’s player.

Headines Lacrosse is a 501c3 Non profit club based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. All of our players are from the greater Cincinnati and Dayton area. We have taken notice that our area is home to some of the best athletes and lacrosse talent in the country. Headlines Lacrosse Club is designed to show just that. Our goal is to compete and be successful at a regional and national level in summer and fall tournaments. As well as help our athletes and families fulfill any goals they may have about playing at the next level.
